Your First Visit to Childrens Dental Group in Camarillo, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura
We want your first visit to be a happy one. New patients are always welcome! The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends your child’s first dental well-care visit by age one. You should make appointment as soon as you see that first tooth peek through. Our pediatric dental specialists are trained to help your child with their preventive care program that creates healthy smiles for a lifetime.
Your Child's First Visit
Your child’s first visit is a dental well-care visit. This gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have in caring for your child’s dental development while we provide education and guidance for oral development. During this visit, we will discuss proper oral hygiene habits and techniques, explain how healthy diets aid in healthy smiles, plus we will evaluate your child’s growth and orthodontic development.
Before you step into our office, there are several ways to prepare for your visit at home:
- Introduce the idea by reading a story to your child about the first dental visit
- Pretend to be the doctor and count your child’s teeth
- Use positive language when referring to the dentist, never share any negative experiences
- If you have one, try using an electric toothbrush to simulate a dental instrument
Our staff is well informed and happy to assist you in any way. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and they’ll answer them to the best of their abilities.
